CLEonline.com, together with the Houston Bar Association (HBA), are pleased to present a special online CLE ethics course that will focus on ethical issues often confronted by practitioners representing clients in civil rights cases, with particular emphasis on attorney's fees matters. Potential conflicts, implications of fee waiver offers, settlements issues, joint representation, importance of the representation agreement, professionalism, and frivolous claims will all be explored, as will various topics relating to petitions for (and opposition to) awards of attorney's fees. This course features a streaming video and a downloadable MP3 audio presentation from a live CLE seminar on this topic that was originally conducted by the Houston Bar Association (HBA) on May 1, 2014. You can access this presentation on demand at any time during the course of the seminar session. This course is approved for 1.25 MCLE Legal Ethics hours.

Subjects to be discussed during this course include:

* Conflicts

* To Whom Does A Fees Claim Belong?

* Settlement Issues (Rule 68, Fee Waiver Offers, Effect on Awards)
