CLEonline.com, together with the Houston Bar Association (HBA), are pleased to present a special online CLE program in the area of criminal law. The Texas handgun carry laws previously allowed for its citizens to obtain "Concealed Handgun License" permits ("CHL"). On January 1, 2016, this regulation was changed in Texas to allow for "License To Carry" ("LTC") permits and the laws were also changed to include "Open Carry" as well. This seminar will cover the open carry law of handguns in Texas -- when, where, and all the important related restrictions. The new changes that pertain to the open carry gun laws on college campuses will be addressed as well. This presentation will also include a discussion of the current specifics regarding the concealed carry gun laws pertaining to what regulations stayed the same and what regulations were changed. This course features streaming video and audio (as well as downloadable MP3) presentations from a live CLE seminar on this topic that was originally conducted by the Houston Bar Association (HBA) on February 19, 2016. You can access this presentation on demand at any time during the course of the seminar session.

Some of the subjects to be discussed during this course include:

  • Gun Carry Laws

  • New Legislation

  • When and Where You Can Open Carry

  • Restrictions

The speaker for this course is Carl Shaw, who is a Captain in the office of Constable Alan Rosen, Harris County Constable Precint 1, in Houston.
