Spine injuries are a major health problem and commonly the subject of litigation. Spine claims in the workers' compensation, personal injury and disability context demand that lawyers be keenly aware of spinal anatomical and physiological concepts and the use of appropriate medical terminology and jargon. As an anesthesiologist / pain management physician, Dr. Schwartz will provide a collection of tips and techniques that attorneys will be able to implement immediately in their legal practice. This exciting CLE program will become your secret weapon to properly litigate the typical back injury case. You will learn: basic anatomy of the spine and correct medical terminology; spinal physiology, the spine and its elements; spinal medical diagnoses and pathophysiology; and how pathology compromises the functional status of the spine. This course will also address diagnostic tests and their limitations, conservative versus interventional procedures, injections, opioids, and surgeries.
