    David Mitcham, First Assistant / Chief of Courts, Harris County District Attorney’s Office  David Mitcham is the supervising attorney over every prosecutor representing the State of Texas in every State Criminal Court in Harris County: the 16 Justice of the Peace Courts, 16 County Criminal Courts at Law and 23 State Criminal District Courts. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar in 1979.  More information may be found on the Harris County District Attorney's website.


    Alex Bunin, Harris County Public Defender.  Alex Bunin was appointed in November 2010 to be the first Chief Public Defender in Harris County, Texas. Mr. Bunin is board certified in criminal law and criminal appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He was given the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Champion of Public Defense Award.
