PTSD is more prevalent than most people realize, with an estimated 24.4 million people dealing with PTSD in a given year; however, the illness is still very misunderstood. The purpose of this informative CLE program is to provide an understanding of PTSD and how attorneys – both plaintiff and defense – should prepare and address an individual with PTSD. “Following the ABA Model Rules requires using judgment, respect and sensitivity. The rules do not, however, exhaust the moral and ethical considerations that should inform a lawyer’s behavior,” especially in relation to depositions and other interviews.
