In the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, clients are attempting to navigate a patchwork of novel, complex, and often conflicting state and federal laws and regulations. Texas is a hot bed for new legislation and litigation concerning the reach of potential civil and criminal liability on individuals and entities (including corporate clients) for conduct that “aids or abets” abortion. This CLE program will address areas of potential civil and criminal liability that may impact corporate clients in the post-Dobbs legal landscape. This CLE course features streaming video and downloadable audio presentations from a seminar by the Houston Bar Association (HBA) on March 10, 2023.

Subjects include:

  • The Dobbs Decision

  • The Post-Dobbs Legal Landscape

  • Overview of Texas's Existing and Proposed Abortion Laws

  • Status of Current Lawsuits Involving Texas's Abortion Laws

  • Implications for Corporate Clients

  • Best Practices
